We start with a phone call to discuss the project and to make sure that my skills are the right fit for your needs. (30 min, free)
Site Analysis
I will come to the site and do a walk-through with you and develop design goals based on your vision for the space as well as assess any problem areas. A design proposal will be presented and developed with you. If you’d like to proceed, I will take measurements of your home and existing landscape elements to create a base map. (1-2 hours, requires a 50% down payment on design fees)
Conceptual Design
Next I will incorporate our design goals into a conceptual design. Two landscape layouts will be presented along with material choices and you will choose your preferred design. A plant book with color palette will be presented at this time as well. (Typically 2-3 weeks after site visit)
Final Design
The chosen concept layout will be used and details will be added to the design including a planting plan. A final drawing will be presented and I will walk through the design with you to ensure all of your concerns and needs are met. (Typically 2-3 weeks after concept design meeting)
Design Fees
Design fees are a flat rate that will be determined and agreed upon at the initial site visit. The fees depend on the estimated time required to complete the project and range from $800 – $1200 for smaller projects such as a front or side yard. Larger projects for an entire yard can run from $1600 – $3200 depending on the size and complexity of the site.
Project Management
At this point your design drawings are ready to hand off to a landscape installation professional. If you would like assistance from me in bidding projects and finding a contractor, I offer this service at an hourly rate. I also offer assistance and supervision throughout the entire construction phase at a rate of 7% of the final installation price.
Garden Consultations
I also offer site visits to address specific issues in your garden. Do you want to learn how to incorporate more native plants into your landscape? Do you need help starting an edible garden or have a beloved plant that is struggling? After the site visit I will provide you with a packet of guidance specific to your site. (1-2 hours, $150)
